EASA ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to safeguarding your privacy and ensuring the confidentiality of personal and sensitive information related to your engagement with our counselling and wellbeing services. We adhere to strict standards set out under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and all relevant Northern Territory legislation, particularly in relation to health information and workplace wellbeing.
Data Privacy & Security
We exceed regulatory requirements for privacy and security, particularly given the sensitive nature of EAP counselling services. All session data is treated as confidential and securely stored in accordance with clinical governance frameworks.
Data is encrypted both at rest and during transmission
Secure access controls ensure that only authorised personnel can view your information
No personal data will be shared, disclosed, or sold without your explicit written consent except where legally required (e.g., imminent risk, court orders)
All data is stored within Australia on servers compliant with national health data security standards.
What Personal Information We Collect
We may collect personal information relevant to your engagement with our services, including:

Referral reason

Feedback submitted via our website or service portal

We do not collect personal information unnecessarily. Any information shared voluntarily or through contact forms will be treated respectfully and in accordance with the Privacy Act.

Confidentiality in Counselling
Client confidentiality is a cornerstone of our service delivery. Information shared during counselling is private and protected unless disclosure is required by law (e.g., risk of harm to self or others).
EASA clinicians and administration staff receive regular training in privacy legislation, trauma-informed care, and ethical boundaries.
Exceptions to Privacy
Disclosure without consent may occur only in the following circumstances:
If there is an immediate threat to your safety or the safety of others
If subpoenaed by a court or legal authority
If required under mandated reporting obligations (e.g., child protection)
In all cases, we will aim to inform you where practicable and appropriate.
