Meet Kate

Kate is an Accredited Social Worker with more than a decade of experience supporting people across the Northern Territory. Her professional background includes specialist counselling for sexual violence and complex trauma, alcohol and other drug rehabilitation, behaviour change, and extensive work within community corrections, including with Aboriginal clients and remote communities.

Kate provides a calm, practical and non-judgmental space for people experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship or communication difficulties, workplace stress, burnout, substance use, or significant life changes. She works collaboratively with clients to understand unhelpful patterns, strengthen emotional regulation and communication skills, and make changes that are realistic and meaningful.

Her practice is trauma-informed, person-centred, strengths-based and culturally responsive. Kate draws on Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, parts-informed approaches, grounding and nervous-system regulation, and psychoeducation. Her style is warm, straightforward and respectful. She works at each client’s pace while offering gentle, honest challenge when it can help them move forward.
